About this trail
The Faulkner Trail climbs Mount Tom from Faulkner Park in Woodstock and links the village with the trails of Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park. Marianne Faulkner built it in 1937 in memory of her husband, modelling it on the gentle health walks of Baden-Baden, so most of the climb is on easy switchbacks past a bench and overlook. The last hundred yards to the South Peak are steep, with a handrail, and the top looks out over Woodstock.
Good to know
- Stay on the trail and do not cut the switchbacks.
- Dogs must be on a leash at all times.
- Check the handrail is firm before leaning on it.
