About this trail
The Weathersfield Trail climbs Mount Ascutney from the south, starting at a year-round trailhead off Route 131 in Weathersfield (follow Cascade Falls Road and the signs). The state park's guide gives 2.9 miles to the summit, with Little Cascade Falls at 0.4 mile, Gus' Lookout at 2.3 miles and the West Peak vista at 2.5 miles. West Peak is also a hang-gliding launch site.
Good to know
- There is no direct trail to the main Cascade Falls, and the falls run thin unless there has been rain.
- There is no drinking water on the trail; carry plenty.
