About this trail
A quieter approach to Camel's Hump from Huntington, the Forest City Trail starts at a small lot on Camel's Hump Road and follows Brush Brook. The state's guide gives it as 2.2 miles, rated moderate, with light traffic. Just past a long bridge, a small concrete structure is a remnant of Forest Mills, a former logging and sawmill settlement. The trail meets the Burrows connector at 0.8 mile and ends on the Long Trail near Montclair Glen Lodge, 1.6 miles south of the summit, which makes it the usual first leg of the Forest City and Burrows loop.
Good to know
- From the Long Trail junction the summit is 1.6 miles north (left).
- Montclair Glen Lodge is about 200 feet south on the Long Trail.

Walking distances follow the mapped trail network. They are not a route, they ignore slope, and they are not driving directions.
Climb are estimates worked out from the mapped line and USGS elevation data, not measurements or official ratings. This trail has several separate pieces, so the climb is an average of the two directions.
